A WORD FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR;
Welcome to Bethel Los Angeles CDC. (Bethel LA CDC),
Where we strive to not only accomplish our mission, but to live it in the actions, spirit, and outcomes of the organization. Our focus is on developing programs and providing services designed to nurture our youth, support our seniors, and strengthen the family structure.
Bethel LA CDC believes in fostering economic development through the creation of jobs, businesses, and qualified
employees and business owners throughout the surrounding neighborhoods and communities of South Los Angeles
with special emphasis on closing the digital divide, bridging the education gap between generations, and connecting life purposes with career choices.
It is our goal to remain agile and responsive to the needs of the community we serve. To that end, Bethel LA CDC is committed to address the long-term impact of mental health and trauma historically ignored or unaddressed in limited resourced communities: an increase in the number of unhoused, unemployment, justice-involved, and undereducated.
Through self-sustaining programs, projects, and services we aim to make a difference in these and countless other issues. We welcome community partners to join us in making long term impact in the lives of the residents we serve.

A WORD FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT:
Greetings and welcome to Bethel Los Angeles Community Development Corporation where our goal is to transform lives by transforming our community. Research shows that communities prosper when the mental health needs of community members are met. Unaddressed mental health problems can have a negative influence on homelessness, poverty, employment, safety, and the local economy. They may impact the productivity of local businesses and health care costs, impede the ability of children and youth to succeed in school, and lead to family and community disruption.
That’s why Bethel LA CDC tackles issues that impact our community at all levels. Community revitalization and economic development must start at the root level and evolve to the core of each neighborhood to ensure long term responsiveness and sustainability. This is our commitment to South Los Angeles: to transform our community, one person, one family, one block at a time!
Dr. Calloway
